ArmInfo.Armenia will be among the nominees for the World Travel Awards, established by World Media & Events. According to the press service of the Armenian Tourism and Urbanism Charitable Foundation (TUF), this was achieved thanks to the signing of a cooperation agreement between TUF and World Media & Events.
In particular, the purpose of this cooperation is to develop domestic tourism in Armenia, improve Armenia's position as a tourist destination on the world tourist map. The goal is also to strengthen the unity of the professional community of tourism and related areas, improve the image of professions and jobs in the field of tourism and hospitality, develop the professional qualities and skills of specialists in the field. Cooperation also includes assistance to state bodies in the development of appropriate state policy, implementation of tourism development strategies in Armenia, as well as assistance in the adoption and improvement of existing laws and by-laws. According to the Director of the Foundation Elena Abovyan, within the framework of agreements with the organization World Media & Events, an international wine festival and culinary days will be organized in Armenia in 2022.
At the same time, it is reported that within the framework of cooperation, the Armenian Tourism and Urbanism Charitable Foundation organized a visit of the founder and director of the World Tourism Awards, Graham Cooke, to Armenia. During his three-day visit, Cooke visited the country's most famous and attractive tourist attractions and took part in the annual Yerevan Wine Days wine festival.
It should be noted that since July 2020, the Tourism and Urbanism Charitable Foundation (TUF) has been managing all projects of the IDeA Foundation Initiatives for Development of Armenia related to tourism and urban planning (Dilijan, Tatev, Artsakh and Yerevan).
The Foundation develops innovative programs in the field of tourism and urban planning, promotes sustainable territorial development, contributing to the positioning of Armenia on the world map as a competitive tourism country.
It should be reminded that according to the data of the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, in January-March 2021, 86,524 tourists visited Armenia.
