Food products, services cause of 0.8% inflation in Jan-Apr 2024 

ArmInfo.In Armenia, four-month inflation of 0.8% was triggered by food and services, which rose in  price by 1.8% and 0.9%, respectively, while non-food products fell in price by 1.6%. This is not much different from last year's picture, when in January-April 2023 inflation of 0.9% came from an increase in  food prices by 1.6% and an increase in the price of services by 1.1%, with a decrease in the price of non-food goods by 1%. This is evidenced by the data of the RA Statistical Committee.

ArmInfo.The volume of cargo transportation in Armenia in the I quarter of 2020 increased by 2.6% compared to the same period of the previous year - up to 2927.3  thousand tons, against the decline by 60.3% a year earlier. Of these,  1,592.8 thousand tons (54.4% of the total) accounted for road  transport, which decreased by 4.8%, against a decline of 72.2% a year  earlier. This is stated in the report of the Statistical Committee of  the Republic of Armenia.

According to the RA Statistical Committee, the birth rate per 1000 inhabitants for the reporting year decreased from 10.9 to 10.3 ppm, compared to 11.3 two years earlier.

Road transport decreased by 2.8% to 24,338.2  thousand people.

According to the RA Statistical Committee, the lion's  share of the total revenue was provided by the telecommunications  sector - 90% or 20.9 billion drams, which was reduced by 0.6%  (compared to a 1.5% decline last year).

As noted in the report of the Statistical  Committee of the Republic of Armenia, of the total volume, 51.4% or  489.7 thousand tons accounted for road transport, which decreased by  1.3% in y-o-y terms.
