Food products, services cause of 0.8% inflation in Jan-Apr 2024 

ArmInfo.In Armenia, four-month inflation of 0.8% was triggered by food and services, which rose in  price by 1.8% and 0.9%, respectively, while non-food products fell in price by 1.6%. This is not much different from last year's picture, when in January-April 2023 inflation of 0.9% came from an increase in  food prices by 1.6% and an increase in the price of services by 1.1%, with a decrease in the price of non-food goods by 1%. This is evidenced by the data of the RA Statistical Committee.

Y-O-Y inflation in Armenia in April 2021, amounted to 6.2%, and in  January-April alone-5.1%

ArmInfo. In the consumer market of Armenia in January-April 2021, inflation was recorded at 5.1%, against 2.6% inflation in the same period in 2020. According to the RA Statistical Committee, this was provoked by an increase in the  prices of food products (including alcohol and cigarettes) by 8.6%  (versus 5.7% a year earlier), non-food products - by 5%  (versus 0.1% a year earlier) and tariffs for services - by 1.1%  (against 0.3% a year earlier).

It amounted to 21.8 billion drams ($41.7 million), which decreased by 4.7% per  annum (against 0.5% growth a year earlier). According to the RA  Statistical Committee, the lion's share of the total revenue received  was provided by the telecommunications sector-91.7% or 20 billion  rdrams, with the decline accelerating to 2.6% from 0.6% in the same  period a year earlier.

At the  same time, the growth was registered only in the line of road cargo  transportation, which accounts for 57% of the total volume or 1,189.7  thousand tons - by 15.7% per annum.
