ArmInfo. In Armenia, the procedure for submitting documents to the RA Police on concluding an agreement on Compulsory Motor Third Party Liability for fined drivers will be simplified. At a meeting on December 4, the RA National Assembly Standing Committee on Defense and Security issued a positive opinion on the draft amendments to the Code of Administrative Offences.
According to the author of the initiative, MP from the ruling Civil Contract faction Eduard Aghajnyan, the current law establishes that in the absence of a CMPTL contract, drivers are fined in the amount of 100 thousand drams, but if within 24 hours the agreement is concluded and submitted to the Ministry of Internal Affairs or to an employee of the Patrol Service, then citizens will pay only 25 thousand drams. Now it is proposed to exclude these requests, since the Ministry of Internal Affairs receives all the necessary data by e-mail. Aghajanyan noted that by the second reading it will be necessary to decide on some technical issues, including issues related to the development of the database.
In turn, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Arpine Sargsyan pointed out the importance of fixing the deadlines for its application in the document so that the software is developed and applied in a timely manner.
