ArmInfo. In January 2022, Armenia`s services sector recorded a 21.2% year-on-year growth against a 10.3% decline in the previous period - up to AMD 156.7bln (over $325mln).
The cause is improved dynamics of services in all the sectors except for the financial sector, which recorded an 0.8% decline against an 11% growth last year.
Specifically, public catering and tourism recorded a 44.6% growth against a 19.2% decline, cultural and recreation sector, 4.2% growth against a 33.2% decline, education sector, an 12.7% growth against an 4.9% decline, the healthcare sector a 29.4% growth against 3.9% decline, real estate sector, a 25.3% growth against a 9.9% decline, transport, a 92.4% growth against 42.4% decline, management and support activities, a 24.9% growth against a 4.8% decline, professional and research activities, a 50.5% growth against a 5.1% decline. The information and communication sector recorded an accelerating year-on-year growth from 12.7% to 26.3%.
The financial sector is the leader in terms of services - AMD 39.3bln (25.1% of the total services). The information and communication sector ranks the second - AMD 31.8bln (20.3% of the total services). The culture and recreation sector rank the third - AMD 20.6bln (13.2%), followed by the transport sector (AMD 18.6bln or 11.7%) and public catering and tourism (AMD 13.8bln or 8.8%).
The average exchange rate was AMD 481.99/$1 this January.
